I'm just curious as to what wipes everyone uses in here (who has kids already).  I'm looking for a "green" alternative to the wipes we use right now but I want to make sure they are good and not  "cheap" looking.  I've tried the Nature Baby Care wipes and just felt they were too thin... any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!  Thank you!

We've always used Huggies "free" wipes for disposables, because my son has a very sensitive bum. We've actually tried the 7th Gen, and it made his bum red. Weird eh?
We also use cloth wipes, spraying the California Baby Diaper spray onto them or onto him.
If you use cloth inserts with your g's, you might want to try cloth wipes. Our wipes are just flannel squares about 8"x8" or so.

We have also used Tendercare Tushies (I think that's what it was) as well as 7th Gen and both seem to be okay for us.
Yeah I do want to use the cloth inserts for the g's. I'm not really sure which ones or how to do it yet, I need to research that a little more.
Somewhere, if you do a search in my tags, I did a write up on my prefolds. Have you joined the Yahoo group? There is TONS of information stored in the files section there.
Oh no I didn't...I didn't even know it existed! Geez I've got a lot to learn about this stuff lol. Thank you though I will check it out!

cheap and green wipes

I just bought a bunch of the 97 cent baby washcloths 6packs they sell at Walmart. I wet them in a tupperware container with some baby soap and wipe clean with one wet with just water. I throw them in the diaper pail with the other cloth dipes and wash as usual.

re: wipes

I use baby cloths to be honest. My daughter is allergic to baby wipes. Believe me, I have tried the different hypo allergenic stuff as well. If I need to go out, I just wet 2 or 3 and put them in a zip lock to stay moist and then just rinse them after i'm done. Then i get fresh cloths for the next day and so on. I works great (wipes have preservatives to keep them from molding which is why my daughter was getting such a bad diaper rash). As soon as I stopped using wipes the rash went away and she hasn't had one since. On top of that, what is more green than a wipe you don't throw away!
